Ukiah California

We had our first really hot day today.  104 F when we pulled into Ukiah for the night.  Quite a change from Eureka, where we were last night where most of the hotels don't have air conditioning.  We are about 2-1/2 hours North of San Francisco and will head out early so that we get through the big city while it is not busy.  We will have to plan Los Angeles and San Diego a little differently, but we will take it one day at a time.

We got our oil changed this morning at North Coast Cycle from Mark.  He is such a cool guy and a really great mechanic.  A biker came in with his foot peg broken off. The piece was all aluminum and a normal shop would have to order a replacement.  Mark was getting ready to weld it back on when we were heading out.

We stayed on highway 101 all day.  About 1-1/2 hours South of Eureka, we stopped at Grandfather Tree, a 1800 year old Red Wood that is amazing.  We also toured through the One Log House, which is a mobile home built out of one Redwood tree section that has been hollowed out.

Oh yeah, and Brandon got a new hair cut.  It really suits him.

TTFN,
Stew.

  1. Really enjoyed looking at your photos. You have seen so much beautiful country. Would love to travel that route when we head South for Arizona. San Diego is very close to Yuma. Was there this past winter with Uncle Sid and Aunt Jackie.
